Young WIZO is an exciting and rewarding way of supporting WIZO.uk's vital work in Israel. The committee was created by a new generation of fundraisers - an eclectic international group of young professional men and women living in and around London. In its 6th year, the group is proving to be a truly remarkable success.
Their fundraising goal is to strengthen and support WIZO.uk projects which feature at every juncture in Israeli society.
The Young WIZO committee is extremely proud of its first year's achievements. High on the list is their commendable success in attracting a diverse audience to a variety of innovative events, exciting parties and cultural gatherings. These include parties, shabbatons, half marathons and girly eveningsin (or out!). The Brazillian themed launch party in Autumn 2004 was a colourful and atmospheric affair which entertained 350 young professionals, and this year's exotic re-launch party is set to be even more successful. In its first Young WIZO set its standard by raising an invaluable £30,000 - plus.
WIZO's resources are wide ranging and work across the generations. They include; kindergartens, schools, day care centres, youth villages, shelters for abused women and senior citizen centres. This is to name but a few...
WIZO has 800 projects throughout Israel.
WIZO.uk sponsor 100 of these.
Young WIZO significantly contributes to the vital funds needed to facilitate these projects, while simultaneously raising awareness as to WIZO's fundamental role in Israeli society.
