WIZO defines its goals for 2010

In these tough economic times, I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you, our committed members and supporters all over the UK and Ireland, for your continued dedication and support for WIZO. We are so grateful for your contribution to our vital work in Israel. Please be assured that your money is really making a difference.

For more than 90 years, WIZO.uk has remained true to the vision of its founder, Rebecca Sieff: to improve the quality of life for all Israelis, especially those who cannot help themselves. Our solidarity with the people of Israel remains constant and our mission is to deliver the best possible services to the most vulnerable sectors of Israeli society.

WIZO's leading-edge work in Israel in every aspect of education for all ages provides the basis for creating a brighter future for young people by developing their true potential. We will continue to help ensure that even the most disadvantaged and problematic youngsters will emerge with confidence, self-esteem and purpose, ready to make their contribution to Israeli society.
As the largest Jewish women's network in Great Britain and Ireland, WIZO.uk will continue to involve our members, through education and fundraising, in support of WIZO's 800 social welfare and educational projects.

During my term of office, my priorities remain constant: to encourage the development of our younger AVIV movement in the UK, to maintain and increase our prime-time Membership and to continue with the development of our blueprint for original and innovative fundraising ideas which can run smoothly alongside our regular and major successful fundraising appeals, events and campaigns.

If you are not yet a member, why not join us? Every member is valued and makes a real difference. We will continue to encourage our young business and professional men and women supporters of the Young WIZO movement and promote their imaginative fund-raising events on behalf of our projects in Israel.

Meanwhile, among our newest initiatives is The JCWIZOnet, an exciting new business networking programme created in conjunction with The Jewish Chronicle. It is designed to encourage working men and women across the generations to keep in step with each other. Morning and evening events will allow people to benefit from others' wide and varied business experiences, expertise and new skill sets. Our launch has already generated wide interest and excitement.

We still have many challenges to pursue with all our energy and commitment: to create exceptional events and to welcome new members who share the aspirations and values of WIZO women throughout the world.
