WIZO is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) with consultative status in ECOSOC and UNICEF. Members work on an international level to promote the rights of women and children and actively advance the status of women.
Public Affairs
The Public Affairs Department at World WIZO Headquarters in Tel Aviv is responsible for putting its member Federations throughout the world in touch with the Israeli perspective of what is happening in the Middle East.
The department produces a publicity materials which are responsible for projecting the many new discoveries, concepts and ideas emanating from Israel.
World WIZO Headquarters compiles information for WIZO Federations around the world on current events in Israel.
Updates are sent out concerning the peace process; Israel’s standing in the region and internal events. Material is also distributed, to WIZO Federations, on an ongoing basis, on issues relating to the Jewish World, such as anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia, as well as Holocaust and Jewish Education.
At the same time, WIZO works actively towards countering discrimination and the persecution of Jews worldwide.
