Young at heart twins at
WIZO's Nir Ha'Emek School & Youth Village
It was a birthday outing with a difference when sprightly ninety-one year old twin sisters, Sylvia and Gill Hayward, from London's St Johns Wood took time out from a leisurely holiday in Eilat to hop on a plane northwards to visit WIZO's Nir Ha'Emek School and Youth Village in Afula on a whistle-stop trip organised by World WIZO's Tourism Department. They met six other pairs of twins who study at the northern Israel youth village and joined boys and girls celebrating their Bar and Batmitzvah at the new synagogue where they watched Barmitzvah boys lay tefillin for the first time. The intrepid sisters then climbed into a van, which took them to the stables where they took a ride on the village horses. Following a meal with their young hosts, Sylvia and Gill, who made a donation to WIZO Nir Ha'Emek, said that they could feel the love surrounding them. Later, they flew back to Eilat perhaps to rest after such a memorable birthday experience.
