Can you see the future while honouring the past?
The Golden Age Club is designed for members who have given their active years to work for WIZO but who are no longer able to organise events themselves.
Can you see the future while honouring the past?
"My grandmother was a woman of WIZO who helped to establish one of our leading day care centres in Jerusalem. I am so proud of her achievement and those of WIZO's founding mothers who have given their time, energy and skills over more than 85 years. Their Vision was magnificent and I intend to help sustain it."
- Louise, Essex
The Golden Age Club was launched in 2001 to enable our more senior members to continue their relationship with WIZO. Just as WIZO reaches out and responds to the needs and challenges facing Israel's citizens, we at WIZO.uk wish to provide programmes of activities for our members who have contributed so much over so many years. With the help of generous donations, the Golden Age Club has organised a number of events, including;
A Summer Tea ... On a hot summer's day in a beautiful garden in Hampstead Garden Suburb, 50 Golden Age Club members enjoyed a lovely strawberry tea followed by entertainment.
A South London Lunch ....Our members from south of the river were honoured with a delightful lunch at WIZO House followed by afternoon entertainment.
Other events have included a day at the seaside, regular theatre visits, yomtov lunches and river trips to name but a few.
