In 1957 the Head of the World WIZO Organisation and Education Department, Mrs Faye Grove-Pollak, realised that the 'generation gap' often prevented young women from joining their mothers and grandmothers as WIZO members.
She decided to bring together a group of young women who were to be a continuing generation and a source of future leadership. She called the group AVIV - spring. Mrs Grove-Pollak continued to form new AVIV groups as she travelled from one country to another.
AVIV in the UK was established in 1961 and was designed for the 30-45 age range. We currently have 15 groups located throughout the UK and welcome those who wish to start more.
For more information on AVIV, contact us and we will happy to help you find a group in your area, or assist you in starting one of your own.
